We are doing great settling into our new home and I am so happy to announce that just this week we put pictures on the wall. Not all of my pictures cause I have a bit of an obsession and we have a LOT. But come on who wouldn't want pictures of their cute kids, handsome hubby and great looking friends around their house. I guess its just one of my things.

Here is our bed room with some pictures up. For some reason (lighting of course) the top picture looks more bright but the bottom picture is a more accurate picture for the color.

And our living room. Well one corner of it.

And here is the other corner. We just got that end table this week so I put our shutterfly book on it along with the lamp and few other things.

Step by Step we are making this house more and more like the home we want. So there will be lots of little up dates as we add things and put things on the walls.

January Fun

The cold weather snap finally showed up with - 20!!! We think that is pretty cold until some friends who live out west tell us its -41 out where they are. We are thinking about you guys during this cold weather. For us here -20 is cold enough to stay inside and have fun if we don't have to go any where's. So we have been enjoying lots of fun activities together.

Sweet Jaelyn loves to color. So every morning while I do preschool activities with Eben, Jaelyn will sit in her high chair and color away. She is actually pretty good. I find giving her these special markers that only show up on this special paper makes for great clean up.

Eben will sit and do some school work but then he is so creative he usually is off using his imagination creating fun stories. One thing he LOVES to do is play dress up in daddy's snow stuff.

Eben and mommy got to go on a special date this week. Eben will go to kindergarten in the fall so he went this week for his assessment. He did such a great job that mommy took him out for a doughnut and hot cocco.

He picked the one with the most sprinkles on it and sat there eating it and drinking up his coco like he was a little old man! hehehe. When he was done the doughnut he looked at me and said "Mama lets stay here and talk while we finish our drinks." I am really enjoying these special moments with him as he is growing up and becoming a little boy.

Now today as I blog the snow is falling outside and its really beautiful! We haven't made it out there yet but maybe after nap time we will suite up and shovel the drive way. But this morning after all our chores were done the kids had a fun time playing with play-doh.

This picture of Jaelyn was right before she popped the whole ball of play-doh in her mouth! heheh Maybe we will stick to homemade play-doh for her.

After the eating of the Play-Doh Jaelyn decided she wanted to help me make lunch and got to work playing the pot cupboard.

Happy 2012 Readers!! We are excited to start our new year off with Micah's 30th birthday. Here is one of the gifts the kids and I got for Daddy!

Micah's birthday fell on a Saturday this year so we were able to invite friends and family over to our new home to celebrate his birthday with us. There are only 2 things Micah LOVES for his birthday. Mexican pile up and Oreo dessert. So that is what we enjoyed.

I really love LOTS of things about our new place and one is the kitchen island. I love how we could put everything out for a buffet. So some readers may be thinking what is Mexican Pile Up. Well let me explain. Its kind of like making your own Mexican Salad. There are many different things you can put onto your plate. You don't want to put too much of one thing on so that you can fit everything onto your plate. But even if you take just a little bit you still end up with a PILE on your plate.

So you start out with some rice, chips, beef, beans, lettuce, veggies (tomatoes, peppers of all colors, avocados, onions...really whatever you like), then the toppings, cheese, salsa, sour cream, ketchup (only for Micah) and you cover it all in the special cheese sauce!

It was a good thing I bought BIG sturdy plates to carry it all on.

Micah's birthday falls on his grand parents wedding anniversary so it was an honor to have them with us this evening as they were celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary!

Nana was telling the story of how they had gone out for breakfast that morning and when she told the waitress that they were celebrating 60 years of being married she was shocked and asked how did you do it. She looked her in the face and with honor said he is an amazing man!!!

After pile up it was time for dessert. Oreo dessert that is. This is another traditional recipe that Micah enjoys at this special time of year. I think that Eben is getting a taste for it as well.

After all the food it was time for gifts. Micah's mom has been making felted wool mittens and Micah got a new pair for his birthday. He also received some money to go towards the purchase of an iPad he has been saving up for. Since we have the rule if we don't have cash for it we don't buy it he still will have to wait a little bit longer until he gets his mitts on one!

It was a great night and we feel so blessed to be back "home" with lots of friends and family. Although we still do miss our Moncton crew and will never forget Micah's surprise 25th birthday we are feeling peace with God's calling us back.

Our New Home

Welcome to our new house. We just moved in 1 week ago so things are still not in the order we would like but for all of you wanting to see the new place this post is for you. I am sure as we hang pictures, paint and get things all put away we will be posting more pictures.

Here is a picture of our walk way and one half of our front yard.

Onto our deck and you can see the other half of the yard with the swing set and garage.

Walking into our front door. This lovely wreath was left here for us. Such a nice gift from the previous owners.

So here is our awesome kitchen you walk into. We will be putting pictures up over the table and also giving it a fresh color of paint in the Spring.

Now if you walk down the hall way here we have a food pantry (1st door), our washer and dryer is next and then you walk into the master bed room which is a large room. You can't tell how big it really is cause the other half of the room still has boxes that need to be gone through so you only get one side of the room.

And yes our new place has an ensuite bathroom!!! We LOVE IT.

Now back to the main entrance off the kitchen we have a big living room. Sorry this is the only picture I have of the living room at the moment. The kids have been having fun playing with the kitchen that Jaelyn got for Christmas. And if you walk down this hall way there are two bed rooms (both were too messy to take pictures of) and the kids bathroom.

I will post pictures of the other two rooms once we get them a little more organized. Hope you enjoyed your visit with us! I am off to unpack more boxes.

December with the Peterson's

December was so busy but I will try my best to take you through our crazy month. We started the month of with a date night just Micah and I. It was his company Christmas party. It was a nice meal and fun to be out before the craziness started.

Next we headed to Moncton to visit our friends and see them preform in The Nativity. We decided to take Eben with us. We took him out for a healthy supper of French fries at Wedneys where he told us "thanks for bringing me on this date daddy I'm having so much fun".

He loves French fries and root beer!

Back at the house (Nannie and Papa's house that is) the kids helped papa get the Christmas tree in, put on the lights and add some decorations to it.

The same day we got a very BIG package from Korea!!! We were so excited to open it and find gifts from our friend Sera!!! Here is Eben with his package.

What would December be without decorating Christmas cookies. Here I caught all three of them licking the frosting.

Here are some of the delicious cookies we made for a Christmas potluck. I didn't have any helpers with frosting these ones.

Just last week we packed up our storage unit and moved into our new house in SJ. We had lots of great help which made the move go so quickly. We weren't in the house 2 days and Micah had the tree all set up and decorated. Here are the kids helping daddy get our tree set up.

I didn't get a before picture so we will have to use the after Christmas photo. But here is our tree all decorated in our new place. If we are going to continue getting BIG trees I will need to get more ornaments.

On Christmas eve Micah gave a gift to our family to open. He had gone out and bought the Play mobile nativity set. We used it to act out the story of Mary and Joseph with the kids. We all really loved it. It makes a beautiful decoration that the kids can play with it every Christmas.

Christmas morning the kids woke up bright and early (8:00 am hehe). So we started the morning with a delicious tea ring (its like cinnamon buns) and we read the birth of Jesus from Eben's bible before we dug into any Christmas gifts. I love waking up and focusing on the reason and the real gift!!!

Here is Jaelyn's big present she got. My dad did a great job putting it all together and my mother equipped it with pots, pans and lots of wooden food.

Her and Eben have both been enjoying it and spending lots of time playing with it.

That afternoon we enjoyed a delicious turkey supper complete with Christmas crackers (that is why we all have crowns on) and sparkling juice.

Since I took all the pictures I thought I would take one of myself. hehe

Here are my awesome parents who spent Christmas with us. Thanks Nana and Grampie clause for all the presents!

November 1st started a month long journey of my hubby having a moustache to raise money for prostate cancer. Prostate cancer runs in his family so he wants to fight back. Where did the month go?

Since moving from Moncton I feel like the days and weeks are flying by and I can't stop them. We have been very busy doing nothing if you now what I mean. We have taken some trips back to our home that we are selling.

The kids and I spent a couple of days in Moncton with our friends and got to go apple picking with some of our friends from Mothers club. It was so nice to see everyone again.

We also went and spent a week with my mom, which was a lot of fun. One of those days we headed to the aquarium to play in the touch tank and feed the seals.

We had a very hot Thanksgiving this year. It was so hot it felt like summer. After our very large turkey meal with my (Katie) family we headed outside to play a game called pumpkin push. This game was so much fun and a great way to work off some of the meal we just ate...you know to make room for dessert.

The next day was just as warm and we had another meal with the Peterson clan. This year I got to help out with the decorations which was fun to do.

We always have lots of friends and family to share this meal with so this year there were 30 of us. Here is Jaelyn with her oldest cousin Emma and one of our good friends.

But when big things aren't happening around here the kids and I have been spending the mornings outside on nature walks and enjoying the lake.

And lets not forget some photo shoots!

Its hard to get a good picture of these two together but I love Jaelyn's expression in this picture. Its like brother pay attention to me.

Just this past week we got to travel to Halifax as a family. It was so much fun visiting great friends and staying in a hotel with the kids. They really loved playing on the luggage trolly.

Because we were there with Micah's work we packed lots of food for picnics in the hotel. Here we are eating our cereal before we headed out to explore the city.

The pool in the hotel was great. I have never seen a kiddie pool as well as a big pool so it was very nice to have a shallow pool to take the kids in when I was buy myself.

And of course they loved swimming and jumping in.

So there is our month in a nut shell. I will try to be better at posting so I don't have to do these large blogs. Thanks for praying with us for our house to sell. Hopefully soon we can be writing about some new adventures in house hunting.

Harvest

It has been so much fun staying with my in laws this past month. One of the things we have really enjoyed here is being part of the community garden they have here. It was during the month of Aug that David got his bus license and was able to bring the gardeners out in one trip!

It was so fun to watch them get off the bus and get right to work.

Each gardener had a great harvest this year. I am sure for the past month everyone has been going home with 1-2 bags full of fresh produce. Here is Sera picking some of her harvest.

Sera seeded this broccoli her self and had a great harvest of them. They were delicious.

Here is what we have been doing with some of the produce. I learned how to make dill pickles.

Just last week when the gardeners came they harvested the big potato plot. There were so many potatoes that each family got to go home with 2 large bags of them. I am sure each bag was 15-20 lb of potatoes.

Eben and Daddy even got to help out by digging up the potato plants.

Jaelyn also tried to help with the potato harvest but the ground was so uneven it was hard for her to keep her balance and she went face first into the dirt. I think she is a cute gardener!

Now our garden back in Moncton is doing great. We have some great friends picking it for us and getting to eat our delicious tomatoes. We did go up this past weekend to harvest our potatoes!

Vacation

The Peterson Stewart vacation started on Friday Aug 26th as we packed up the truck and the mini van and headed down to Rockport maine for the weekend. What an awesome time we had down there. We arrived just in time to grab a light lunch of fish and chips of course and then head over to a mini golf place. It was the funnest mini golf course we have been to. I am sure with all the video footage Micah took there will be a video to come.

After our 18 holes we headed back to our motel where we were staying to go for a dip in the pool before mama BBQ'd some red franks for supper

The next day we packed up the family for a fun morning adventure; since the wedding wasn't until later that afternoon. We took the kids down and walked the break water.

The guys decided that they would take care of lunch for us so this is what we ended up with. Eben usually doesn't eat anything not even chicken nuggets (which for a Dietitian isn't a bad thing) but him and Jaelyn sure LOVED popcorn chicken. I think it was because he loves dips and Micah happened to get 5 different ones.

Oh and did I mention the wedding was on our anniversary. We were celebrating 6 years. So here we are with our wedding picture.

The wedding was in a beautiful outdoor ampitherater and the weather was just prefect for the event. Here we are in front of the stairs that the bride made her way down.

OH and this is where the planking started. We saw some people doing it down by the harbor after the wedding so Micah decided he would start his own planking career.

This summer has been our busiest summer so far. It seems like we have been non stop for the past 3 months. So when August rolled around we were looking forward to weddings and family time. Little did we know that those times of "family time" would be spend packing, moving, fixing up our first home and moving to a new city.

The middle of the month brought new change for us as Micah excepted a new job in Saint John with a new company. With only 3 weeks to get our things in order we packed up and moved to Saint John. We were so blessed to be moving when all our family was home visiting and that they were willing to come and help us fix the place up to be ready for the market.

Here is Shiloh who was on detail duty! She did such a wonderful job making sure all floors and windows were cleaned.

The rest of the gang gave the living room and the kitchen a fresh coat of paint.

Its only been on the market 1 week so we are still praying that a family comes and LOVES it so much that they make us an offer so we can begin to look for a new place here in Saint John.

Garden

So here are so up dates on one of the garden beds. Its where the tomatoes and peppers are growing. We have one tomato plant that is turning red. The tomatoes are very tasty!!

The other plants are growing lots of tomatoes but they haven't turned red yet. We are having a very wet summer so hopefully when the sun comes out they will turn color for us.

The peppers are growing good. I can't wait to eat them.

Summer time fun

Summer has been filled with so much fun. I don't know if you readers saw this Summer time fun list that we made but I am so glad that we did. It has been a lot of fun crossing off the different things we have been doing all summer long.

Here are just a few things we have done.

A family trip to the zoo

This was Jaelyn's first trip to the zoo. This huge moose sits beside the doors as you are leaving. Its always filled with people taking pictures on the way out so this is sort of Jaelyn's first "moose" picture. Daddy had to sit in front of her cause she is just too crazy to stay on there herself.
July 18th in this house is International M&M's on toast day. Its an exciting morning around here. We all got up and were at the table for 7 am. What a great way to start the day; white bread, chocolate, topped with more chocolate!!!

We have two teenagers staying with us. It has been so much fun having them around the house. On Saturday we all went to work replacing the old fence with a new one we made!!! I am so happy with it. After a hot morning of working we were off to Centennial beach for the afternoon.

And to top the day off we headed out for ice cream that night. These two decided to get a floater which is a slushie with soft serve ice cream in it.

I am also hoping to start a new nutritious fashion...what do you think :)

Garden up date

The garden has been in now for about a month. It was a slow start because we had so much rain during the first few days of June. But now that the sun is out and has been out we are starting to see much more growth!!

We didn't have many beans show up so we replanted those and I forgot to get a picture of the onions and peppers. I am really looking forward to enjoying our delicious vegetables.

Strawberry picking

This morning we packed up the mini van and headed out of town to a local U-pick to get our self some delicious strawberries.

I knew with two little ones that I would need some extra hands so I brought 3 (expert) pickers with me to help out.

The girls did an awesome job and picked a good portion of the berries. The boys also did a great job. Here they are just getting started.

Jaelyn was riding in a hiking book bag but it wasn't long before she wanted out to help us.

Lady J was more like quality control once she found the little red berries it wasn't long before her and her little friend Emma were eating away in the field while the rest of us worked.

It was a very fun morning. We were 2 adults, 2 teenagers, 2 kids and 2 babies. We were there for ~ 2 hours and picked 24 quarts of berries!!! Pretty productive bunch if you ask me.

Now off to the kitchen to freeze some, eat some and make jam.

Finally got the garden planted. Its really late getting it in this season but due to the weather being so wet we had no choice. The boys got the pea fence all up, seeds are in now we are praying for sun shine.

My in laws have also started a International community garden and we spent a nice sunny day at their garden and got some of these great photos.

Painting

So here at the Peterson house hold we have been up to lots of house projects. When its warm outside (which hasn't been too often) we have been doing outside projects. And the rest of the time we have been working on painting and decorating the inside of the house.

First outside we spray painted our plastic patio furniture. I LOVE this color.

We (or Papa) I should say also spray painted my bike. I LOVE it so much. This treasure I found 2 summers ago during spring clean up. I forgot to take a before picture but it was rusting brown. Now it is beautiful blue and I love riding around on it!

It was nice having Nannie and Papa around to help us get these project done on one of the warm sunny days we had. Here is Nannie and Lady J hanging out on the deck.

Closets We went with 3 walls cinnamon cherry and one wall gray.

This mirror was attached to our dresser vertically in the old room. Now I sanded it down and painted it black and hubby attached it to the wall horizontal. I really love how big it makes the room look this way! You can see in the mirror a brown night stand which will be painted black once we get some nicer weather again.

Now over our bed we got a very nice gift of a head board painted by my friend Elisabeth. She made this out of two old windows that she found on the side of the road during spring clean up. I loved how it turned it out. Its titled Love Grows which is so cute.

Also our bed spread was a gift to us as well. This design really adds to the room.

And above our head board I used my Cricut and white vinyl to cut out our Monogram. I love love love how my two new rooms turned out.

Happy Easter

What a day to rejoice. The day the grave couldn't hold HIM!!! We feel so blessed to know Jesus and are so thankful for the sacrifice that He made for us. We started Easter morning off by running around the house saying "He isn't there"!!! Then as we got ready for church we sang and danced around the house. Usually we don't dress up for church but since Easter is such a special day for us we got all dressed up!

Before nap time on Sunday Micah and Eben thought they would be super funny pretending to be the Easter bunny. Eben has NO idea who or what the Easter bunny is but he still thought it was really funny.

Nannies visit

Nannie came to town this week and it was so much fun. The first thing we did was try out Eben's new bike that he got!! He really loves his big boy bike and is really good at riding it; although it did take some getting use to for him.

The weather was very nice this week for getting to go outside and playing. Eben received a bag of hand me downs and in one of the bags was a black and gray hat that looks just like the one hubby wears all the time. Another piece of clothing to make Micah's mini me look even more like him! hehe

Nannie loves to take pictures so here is one of the kids just hanging out. Lady J is rockin her new jean jacket outfit...from Nannie of course.

Whats a visit with Nannie without some fun time at McDonalds play place. Eben had lots of fun playing in there with lots of other kids.

And Lady J was just happy to sit in the old school McDonalds chair and watch all the action. Nannie did try to give her a french fry but Mama noticed too fast and took it away.

Trip to Quebec

We had a wonderful vacation!!! It was full of great adventures, awesome memories, lots of laughs and lets not forget amazing food! We started our vacation by going dog sledding with my brother in law Ben. It was pretty much the funnest thing I have ever done.

Micah and Eben enjoyed a great ride together.

We got a lot of great video footage and I can't wait to see what kind of movie Micah comes up with. But for now here is a little movie trailer featuring some great clips of our adventure.

The next day we packed up the family and headed out to the sugar shack.

We don't have any movie put together of that yet but I can't wait to see what Micah comes up with for a movie. Last year when we were at the sugar shack we were closing down the shop by cleaning all the buckets this year they were still in the middle of production. We got to see the syrup being boiled down and canned. Then we enjoyed a delicious sugar shack meal before we headed out to collect the sap in the buckets.

When all the work was done we got a delicious treat of maple toffee.

We spent our last night of vacation in Quebec city with good friends. It was our friend Sera's first visit to the city so we braved the snow and cold to take her to the old city to see the sites.

It was also the first time our friends Simon and Alex's little guy Theo got to meet Jaelyn.

Today we are trying to get back to our regular scheduled program!

like father like son

I don't know if I could love these two any more!! They are so cute together. Many times its mommies and daughters who always match but not in our house its always Eben and Daddy who wear the same style.

When Micah got a new look this year with his European soccer hair and skinny jeans you can just guess who was next in line to have his hair cut just like daddies. They look some some cute together.

Not only do they like to look alike but they love being together and playing together. One of their favorite things to do is play the drums. We have been asking God for 2 years now for a drum kit for Micah and God provided with this great kit for Micah. Now they have been having lessons together...
and of course jamming out together. I am so happy that they have a great relationship and we are watching Eben grow in His character and becoming a little man. However I wouldn't mind if the drum lesson wasn't at 7 AM in the morning!! hehehe...

Our New Look

Hello readers and welcome to the new Peterson Adventure blog. Now there is no need to worry old time readers; we just got a makeover that we are LOVING!! Our sister in law Deja is a great web/blog designer and she has been helping us get a fresh new look on our blogs.

Some of you might be thinking to yourself. I love the new header and what great pictures they have down the side of the blog...but why on earth is the back ground a garden. Well here goes my explanation to that one. Besides the fact that when two people contribute to the blog its really hard to agree on what type of back ground to pick with such limited choice in the blog world. So after lots of picking and trying we decided on the garden for a couple of reasons.

1. We love having a garden in our back yard and some day we would both really love to have a hobby farm!!

2. We want to be a family who is producing spiritual fruit for God (I know this picture is a vegetable garden but you get the idea).
3. We are parents of 2 small children and right now we don't know how many more children God is going to bless us with so in some sense we are growing children for the Lord also.

Now that I have explained a little bit about the garden growing behind us lets move on!

So why a fresh new look you ask. Well everything needs a makeover every once in a while and for us as we have grown to a family of 4, been married 6 years and have had some great revelations with that we decided our new out look needed to be put to our blog to keep our family and friends up to date with what we are up to. So why Peterson adventure?? because thats what we know we are in for!

We love dancing around the with kids to the song The great adventure by Steven Curtis Chapman. The lyrics are so meaningful to our family right now and every time we listen to it we get really excited to see where God is going to take us, what adventures will we have?? What trails are we going to blaze?? And of course the promise that this is a life like no other...following our leader to the great unknown.

So join us on our adventure as a growing family seeking the Fathers heart on the Agape Road!!!

A walk in the Park

On Sunday afternoon we decided to head out to the park to enjoy the beautiful sunshine. We are loving that the weather is getting warmer and the MASSIVE amount of snow that we had (close to 11 ft) is almost all melted away.

Lady J has been getting use to this book as and loves running around in it with Daddy and Eben. Its also great that it becomes a stool she can just hang out in while the boys play on the play ground

Eben, Daddy and our friend Tyler had a great time playing at the play ground. They were pretending it was a rock ship (of course) heading for some wheres...I was lost in all the boy lingo.

I guess this was the tunnel of safety for the take off! heheh

Finally we got Lady J out of the pack back and into a swing for the first time. Eben had so much fun pushing her back and forth. He has been waiting all winter to be the BIG brother and push Jaelyn. You see we have a jolly jumper hanging from our ceiling in the living room and he Loves to push it around...of course this is not allowed cause its just not safe so we have been telling him for the past month that he can be the big brother and push her on the swings at the park. He has so much fun and so did she.

He also enjoyed a couple good under ducks from daddy before we headed for home!

March break

Last week was March break around here. Not that it really matters for our family cause our kids aren't in school but we had a lot of fun with people who were in school and had a little vacation. First my bestest friend Deanna showed up with gifts for everyone and got to see Jaelyn for the first time in months. It was great having her here for a little visit! Jaelyn has grown so much since the first time we all meet her in the delivery room back in September.

Next Nannie and Papa showed up with our friend Sera! Sera got to stay with us for week back in January so the kids were very happy to see her again. Eben loves Sera. One of the first things he said to her when she walked in the house was "aw Sera I love your dress!" It was just too cute.

We had lots of fun at the park playing in the morning and then that afternoon we took the kids bowling.

It was Eben's first time at the bowling ally and he really enjoyed it and did super well (as you can tell from the picture this ball is almost dead on the center pin). At the end of the game Papa had the highest score but Eben was up there with a 61!!

Right now Micah is working on a putting together a sliding video but once that is done maybe we will get a bowling video so you can see how much fun we had!

29th birthday

Earlier this month hubby turned 29!! To celebrate his birthday we had a family birthday party.

Micah arrived home to a dark house and 4 people ready to jump out and "surprise"him from behind a very colorful chalk board. That said Happy Bithday!! It was only later that we realized we had forgotten the R...heheh oh well.

With party hats and all we were ready to celebrate by enjoying an awesome Korean meal that our friend Sera spent the day preparing.

When supper was finished we sang happy birthday (while Micah played his harmonica). He even used it at the end of the song to blow out the candles, which Eben thought was pretty cool.

We had a good evening enjoying cake with our neighbors! We did work off the cake all evening as we played the Wii.

I think Jaelyn had fun at Daddy's birthday party!!!

New Swing Set

We just celebrated Eben's 2 1/2 birthday! I know it sounds weird but when you are born on Christmas morning we figured (only after having a house WAY to full of presents on Christmas morning) that we would celebrate 1/2 birthdays for Eben. We started the weekend off with a big birthday celebration for the little guy on Friday; which was actually his 1/2 birthday. * Pictures of the party will be coming soon!

So Nana and Grampy came up to spend their first days of vacation with us and putting together a beautiful swing set for Eben.

Wedding Day

So we just got back from a beautiful wedding! Its so wonderful that two people could have their first kiss after a pastor says you may NOW kiss your bride!

Since the bride is the family life pastor at our church it was a very kid friendly wedding. In between the ceromony and the garden party there was crafts for the kids, a bouncing castle, pop corn machine, cotton candy machine, and hot dogs.

What an awesome mothers day I had! I woke up to the smell of cheddar, thyme and tomato omelets cooking and my two boys making me a beautiful mothers day card.

After a powerful message at church we came come and I enjoyed my afternoon reading and resting on the couch enjoy a delicious decaf cup of vanilla coffee. While my boys where busy watching YouTube videos (found here) and cooking me up some of these delicious ribs!!

After my afternoon of resting these delicious babies where finally done!! Micah did such a great job of making BBQ potatoes, carrots and we even had salad!
Eben wanted to show his plate off too. He wasn't as fond of the ribs as we were. They really were the best ribs we have ever eaten!

Happy Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is one of my favorite times of the year. I love the fall colors and the delicious feast we always enjoy. This year we celebrated with lots of family and friends. We are so blessed to have such a big family. In total we were 34 individuals and 4 generations....Thank you Lord for such a heritage we have!

Micah's aunt has a gift of decorating. Her family always makes the building look so beautiful. We ate on fall colored table clothes dressed with leaves, fanned napkins and gourd candles.

There was also this beautiful display of hay, pumpkins and giant mums. These are our two nephews taking a funny face picture.

Here is our thanksgiving buffet line. There is always so much food on the table. We had potatoes, squash, dressing, fiddle heads, carrots, salads, sweet potatoes, ham, turkey and of course GRAVY!!!!!

This year on the table these little cinnamon buns got promoted from the dessert table to the buffet table!!! I don't know how that happened with a dietitian in the family!! hehehe

After the feast came the desserts which I will have posted over at the kitchen blog. There are always so many to choose from. There was apple pie, blue berry pie, raspberry pie, squash pie, pumpkin pie, pumpkin cake, pumpkin mousse, and ice cream sandwich dessert.

After our feast we had a lovely time of worship and a time of sharing about what we are thankful for!

The next day after church we did a nice walk outside. It was a little cold but it felt good to be able to get outside after all the rain we had.

The Jamer/Peterson Feast

This past weekend we packed up the car and headed down to Saint John for a Jamer/Peterson family feast!! It was such a beautiful day on Saturday that we enjoyed a beautiful walk that afternoon. Of course you always feel like you can eat more after you have exercised!

We started the feast off with turkey and all the fixings! There were mashed potatoes, squash, fiddle heads, stuffing, carrots, peas, rolls and of course what would all that delicious food be if it weren't drenched in lots of GRAVY!!!

After the first course was done and the supper dishes cleaned up the real treats came out. Micah's aunt Carole treated us all to a chocolate fondue fountain.

We all really enjoyed making fruit kabobs and then drowning them in the chocolate fountain!! Due to the batteries dying I am sorry that there isn't any pictures of Becca, Davey and I trying to clean up the fountain.

Also for a special treat Micahs brother Josh made us homemade icecream! Wow was it ever delicious...

Once again this winter there is no shortage of snow for us here in Moncton. Monday morning we woke up to a lot of snow on the ground and lots more coming. The snow banks are so high they almost come up to our windows!!

But with lots of snow and snow banks means lots of good sliding!

Micah made this sliding hill next to the garage. We had fun going down it, but it was a little too steep for the babe so we made a little hill for him in the front of the house.

He did really well holding on tight to the GT and had lots of smiles as he was going down the hill with Daddy.
We also made a great sliding hill (again this year) in the back yard with our neighbors. Its been fun watching the guys and the kids out there playing and laughing. I did get a video of Eben and Daddy going down that that we will try to post tonight.

Dads birthday weekend

We spent another weekend away. This time we traveled to our homes to enjoy some time with our folks. Friday night we had a wonderful time of worship with our friends and family. Saturday was a relaxing day. On Sunday we headed down to St. Stephen to visit my parents. After church that day the woman's group from the church was putting on a spaghetti lunch to raise money for missions.

Can you tell that it was delicious!! Its one of Eben favorites meals. To work off lunch dad and Eben spent some time outside plowing the driveway.

While the babe napped Micah and I watched a movie that mom and dad had rented the night before. The movie is called FIREPROOF. This is such a GREAT movie I am recommending it to everyone. If you haven't heard about it check it out and watch the trailer.

Mom was busy all afternoon preparing a turkey dinner for dads birthday. He had requested for dessert chocolate cake with chocolate boiled frosting. After 3 tries he decided to settle for the regular boiled icing.

We never did give Eben cake for his birthday and I was planning on waiting until this summer but that didn't happen. A little piece was placed in front of him and his face just lite up. He didn't really end up eating too much (which is good) so for his little party this summer I think we will stick with apple sauce, since its his favorite.

Eben had fun with his great Grammy after supper.

That night we all sat down to watch the super bowl together and as though we hadn't eaten two days worth of calories already during half time the wings and nachos came out.

What a great weekend!!

Happy Birthday Deanna

This weekend we packed up the family car and headed down or up to Nova Scoita for my bestest friends birthday party.

Her sister planned a wonderful party with lots of Deanna's friends and family. The theme of the party was "ugly sweaters". Every one got into this theme and really dressed up. We decided to wear our Peterson matching ugly sweaters. The one that I am wearing is actually Micah's favorite sweater that he wears daily (heheh). We got another one just like it from a couple at church one day who saw Micah wearing his and said "we have one to match if you want it". Eben got his last winter when we spotted it on sale at Super Store. Its a little small but it was cute for the party.

Krissy and I were busy in the kitchen all evening making lots of healthy food!!! Ya right... the b-day girl wanted sausage rolls and hot dogs in dough. I caught her at one point double fisting the sausage rolls! hehe...

Since Deanna didn't know the theme of the party her sister picked out this beautiful sweater for her to wear.

Now the winner of the party (in my option) would have to be our friend Alex, a 6'7" man squeezed into a lady's Easter sweater that had more bunnies, fuzz and Easter eggs on it then could count. Can you see the beautiful pastel sweater! hehehe....

Today is Deanna's actually birthday. So HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEE!!!

An Early Birthday Present

Today is a great day! Many of you know that I (Micah) have a bit of a thing for T-shirts. I just like T-shirts that make people laugh or confuse them (which makes me laugh). I have collected them for many years and each T-shirt has so many wonderful memories.

Well, as you all know I'm not getting any younger. I'm turning into a bit of an old geezer and there are certain things that come with this territory. Apparently you are suppose to dress nicer, you know polo shirts and shirt shirts and stuff like that. Stuff the wives like to see you in so they can show you off when you are out and about, looking respectable and so on and so forth. T-shirts unfortunately do not fall in this category, so many of them have sat unworn, or they are simply worn out!

That's when my mother had an idea... "Why don't you just give them all to me and I'll make a quilt out of them?", she said. Brilliant, it was almost a win-win. Katie got a well dressed husband, and I would stand to gain one of the greatest pieces of nostalgia, I dare say, of all time. The only loss would be no more response from people when I wore them out in public, but that would be ok.

So New Years Eve my parents came up and mother started the big project. That evening we were joined by other NYE celebrators and the extra helping hands greatly increased the speed of the project (thanks Nicols!).

New Years morning we awoke to the sound of a roaring sewing machine with the pedal to the metal. Within no time my mother had finished the masterpiece. Ta Da!

Later in the afternoon, we tested it out as a family and curled up to watch a movie and catch a cap nap. I think Eben likes the new blanket....

So it is with great excitement that I share this work of art with you. I can't tell how awesome this birthday present is. Thank you mom (I love you)!! I hereby declare this T-Shirt quilt to be an official Peterson heirloom!! Dun-Duhna-Dun!

Christmas

The weekend before Christmas we packed up the car and headed down to Saint John to do our Peterson Christmas exchange. We had a great time opening gifts from one another and enjoyed lots of yummy food. Eben also got to open a few presents from Nannie, Papa, aunts and uncles. One gift he got was a new hat. These hats are a family thing as each member of the family has their own with different designs. Eben got the sheep design just like me!!

Santa showed up at our house on Christmas eve with a truck full of presents. I don't know if you think I am serious when I say a truck full but please believe me. There was so much stuff that we couldn't find the living room floor. That evening before heading off to church for a candle light service we went over to our friends house for a Newfoundland Jiggs dinner.

Eben really enjoyed all the vegetables mashed up and smothered in apple sauce. It seems these days we can't get much down the hatchet without it being drenched in the stuff. After the meal Beverly read us the night before Christmas only it was a Newfoundland tale.

Before heading out to church we got a nice family picture. Of course it's hard to get Eben to smile on the spot! hehe...

We woke up Christmas morning around 6:50; which was about the time last year that Ebenezer made his appearance. Micah got up right away and started lighting candles throughout the house and turning on the Christmas lights. Once we were all up he and Eben put the last piece on our advent calendar (baby Jesus) and then we read the story of the birth of Jesus from the book of Matthew.
Once we took time to thank God for sending the GREATEST gift of all we began to tackle the pile!

A gift for Princess Burt....hehehe. He loves princess auto so he got a box filled with stuff from there including a nice new hat.

Eben received so much stuff. I guess that's what happens when you get Christmas and birthday presents together.

One new present that he loves his is new tractor from Grampy! It makes the tractor sound, has a horn and under the seat is a little farm with 4 animals that make their sound when placed in a special spot!

Micah got some cool gifts. One was a large tool belt with lots of tools that he needed. However I think that he will enjoy all Ebens new toys just as much, if not more, then Eben.

My highlight gift of a new sewing machine from mom and dad. I have lots of projects on the go so I can't wait to learn and get better at this art!

Mom got 2 pictures of Eben from our apple picking adventures this fall. I think she was happy with them!!

Since this was the our first Christmas in our house (actually second but last year we spent it in the hospital) we were making new traditions. One was that we would eat a smaller breakfast of cinnamon buns, juice and coffee and then enjoy our turkey supper at lunch time.

Another thing we did because we were the only ones attending our feast was to eat in our PJ's.

Now the tricky part....what to do with all the leftovers!!

After Christmas lunch we were all so stuffed that we decided to get dressed and head out for a Christmas walk. Can you believe that we made a pumpkin pie and didn't even have room to eat it!!
That evening we headed out to cousin Pamela's house to enjoy a lovely time out there with of course more food!! But what would Christmas be without bacon wrapped water chestnuts and scallops. Dad and Micah brought their guitars and Pamela played the piano while we sang Christmas carols.

I think that we will skip out of getting grocery's for the rest of the year and let all this food digest!!

Peterson Up date

Hey readers I am sorry that its been a while since we last blogged. The days keep on flying by and everyday I think I need to up date our blog. Be sure to know that we are going to be keeping this blog up as well and in the New Year we are going to try to start blogging again.

This fall we went out apple picking as a family and had a professional photographer ( ok and good friend) come with us to take some pictures. We then used those pictures to send out our Christmas greetings to everyone. If you didn't receive one here is your personal copy!

We just got a big snow storm this week like many other parts of the Maritimes. Eben and I had fun out in the snow today.

He loves to walk holding on to things so this little red sled came in handy as he used that to walk up and down the drive way before doing his favorite thing, yes ripping his mitts off with his teeth. So needless to say we can't keep him outside for too long!

This weekend we are doing our family Christmas exchange so we will take pictures and post about it. Also next week we are hosting our first annual Christmas sweater party...I am sure there will be some good pictures.

Friends From All Over

This past weekend was one of the best we have had in a long while. It started off on Friday afternoon with a visit from my bestest friend Deanna! She was just in town long enough for us to enjoy a delicious lunch at Cora's. I have only been there a couple of times but I didn't remember the portions being so large!!! The crepe Dee ate was Ginormous!

That evening we headed over to some friends house for supper and a games night. There were lots of us there so we had to split up and play different games. One of the my favorite games is pit. Which we got to play. Its so much fun!!

Later that night our wonderful friends Phil and Genieve showed up for the weekend. We got back home pretty late (good thing we have a pack and play and can put the babe to bed anywhere). The next morning we got up (not too early) and headed out for breakfast. One of my favorite breakfast places here is Jean's Restaurant. Its good old home cooking that's not too expensive. We ate so much; eggs, sausage, toast, home fries and pancakes. Next it was off to the market to say hi to The Dutch bakers and Harry! But before we went there Phil wanted to see the completion of the bridge; so we took the long about way and headed for the market by going through Riverview. Of course we only made it over the causeway before Phil spotted the new outdoor gym and like little kids him and Micah both wanted to go, so after driving on a trail that I am pretty sure was the TransCanada walking trail they were out of the car and trying out all the equipment. I must admit that it was pretty fun.

It was a short visit at the market because we had a lot of work to do around the house. When we got home the boys got busy cleaning up the yard for the winter, while Genieve and I started conquering 50lbs of squash. Thats right 50 lbs!!! Our hands were very sore and orange by the time were were done. It was a lot of squash but we sure had fun getting in lots of gal chat.

When the yard was tidy the boys came inside to install a baby gate.

I know that it doesn't sound like it would be a big project, but because of where it needed to go (no studs in the wall) there was a lot of work that needed to be done in order to install this thing properly.

Afterwards it was spagetti pizza and squash (of course : ) for supper, then a Bible sharing time complete with caramel popcorn! And of course it would not be a complete night without a little Dutch Blitz.

It was so much fun and we thank Phil and Genieve for helping us out so much! God Bless you guys!

Apple Picking

Last week the babe and I had the privilege of going apple picking with our moms group. It was a chilly morning but the sun came out and it ended up being a beautiful morning. The apple orchard was beautiful and the apples where ready for the picking.

I got the babe strapped on and was ready to pick. These baby carriers really come in handy. Lots of other moms had their babes in them to. It was good cause we got to do some serious picking!

There were lots of latter's all around the orchard so we could get at the nice juicy apples at the tops of the tree.

And they were useful for take some beautiful photos on

Once we let the babes out of the carriers there was no going back in. They did a great job of cleaning up the apples that were all over the ground.

Adventures of deck building

The deck is still a work in progress. But it is coming along and looks beautiful. For many of you constant readers you know that my wonderful husband has taken on the project of building us a back deck. He has been working with my father getting the trees, milling it and now making it in to a master piece.

Here is our latest work on it.

First we had all the board brought to us from St. Stephen by my god parents.

Next my god father showed and helped hubby how to put the frame up

Well the frame was being constructed my father in law planed the decking boards. Which took a very long time to do.

Once the frame was up it was time to lay down the decking boards. I got to help do this part. I really liked using the power drill!!! Sorry there are no pictures of that which I know for my dad makes it hard to believe that I really was out there helping.

Once the decking was laid on the bottom half of the deck hubby and I did this chalk line thing and he used the skill saw to cut the boards.

Even though the deck is not quite finished yet it is still beautiful. I can't wait to spend time out there next summer. Hubby has done a wonderful job of learning how to do this kind of project. I am blessed to be married to such a handy man in the making!!!

The Peterson Camping Trip!

Every Labor day weekend my husbands family packs up and heads out camping for the weekend. When we were engaged I joined the family and went with them, staying with his cousins. Let me tell you the first experience was not joyful at all. It was so cold!!! But I was determined not to give up. So I went again after the 1st year of being married. This time we decided to head to New River beach (instead of Fundy Park). This time I tried my hardest to be a trooper but did end up waking up in the middle of the night crying because I was so cold! However I still didn't let it stop me. This year I was determined to stay warm and have fun!! Yes we were only going for 3 nights and 3 days...but I needed to be warm!

Once I convinced hubby that me packing all these warm clothes would allow him to have a more enjoyable camping experience we were able to load the car and get on our way!

Yes...that's the babe in the back. He wasn't sure what to think of his surrounds but he did great on the drive.

The first night I wanted to make sure that the babe was warm when we was sleeping so we bundled him up. He is such a great little camper.

New River is such a great place to camp. The sites are large, its right on the ocean and there is a nice hiking trail close by. Also all around our camp sites where blueberry bushes. So each morning we sent the kids out to pick some blueberries for breakfast. I think they eat more then they brought back but it kept them busy well they waited for breakfast.

On Saturday we all packed up and headed off for the hiking trail. What beautiful scenery, we even had time to stop and play on the rocks.

For meal times we were always a crowd as many of our friends and other family members stopped by for visits.

And of course what would an annual camping trip be without Dutch Blitz at night!!!

Our trip to Quebec

So we just got back from our two week Kings Kids trip to Quebec City!! Wow....it a blast! If you want to check out all the awesome things that God did for us while we were there you can visit here.

We did want to share some photos with you from our trip. I would write a long detailed description of what happened but as we have been hearing from many of you who followed the Kings Kids blog you all only looked at the pictures anyways so I will save my precious mommy moments and just give you want you all want.

Micah, Eben and I on our first outing. We toured old Quebec City but before we got there we stop at Parliament; that is where this picture was taken.

These are our two new friends Simon and his wife Alex. Simon works at the cafe where we worked. On our day off they took us along with Marie-Helene and Jamie across the fairy to enjoy "World's Best Ice Cream". It is a soft serve cone (vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, orange or maple) dipped in milk or dark Belgium chocolate....wow buddy it was so yummy!!!

Here I am working at the Cafe. Each team member had their turn working in there either cutting up veggies, preparing desserts or doing the dishes!

Here is the whole gang. This photo was taken right before we did our presentation. It was in front of a very large and beautiful Catholic Church.

Here is our pirate family Arrr.....The love feast theme for our trip was pirates so we all enjoyed the evening every much...Eben didn't like his eye patch too much though.

On the way home we stopped in Perth-Andover at Carl's Dairy bar. Micah's mothers family is from there so he told the lady working his family history as we waited for our cheeseburgers and onion rings, which were the best onion rings and burger I have ever eaten!!!

A deck in the making

I can't believe we are already in the third week of July. It just seems to be flying by so fast. We have been very busy this month. We are getting ready to build a deck in our back yard so we have been making many trips to St. Stephen to prepare the wood for it...or should I say Micah and my dad have been preparing the wood for it. Mom and I usually take advantage of these days by heading to town to do some shopping!

After waking up from a nap Eben got to get in on some of the "guys work".

It does get pretty hot working in the woods and with the saw mill so we did get some swimming in. Eben is not fond of cold water as I think we have spoiled him with hot showers since he was 2 weeks old. So it took some getting use to before he started in enjoy it.

We never stop!!

The weeks have been flying by... It hard to believe that its the July 1st already! So here is what we have been up to.

The last weekend in May was the Pregnancy Resource Centers annual walk for life. This year they had 3 tiny walkers; Eben and his two friends Noah and Peter. I think that all three of them fell asleep before we even started the walk!

SURPRISE!!!

That's right my dear husband and friends did it...They pulled off a surprise birthday party to welcome me into the quarter century club.

I thought that after church we were just going over to our friends house (where we go most Sundays after church) for a BBQ. I was shocked when I walked around the corner in their house to find lots of friends and family members jammed in there!

We enjoyed a yummy BBQ, cake, fellowship and of course some serious games of Dutch Blitz! And if you think that is an Awesome day it was topped off with a visit from my BEST friend.

The band she sings with, Life Support, was in town that night playing at our church. So she had time to stop by the party and then that night we took Eben to see them.

We had our first LOVE MONCTON the first week of June that our church took part in. After a fun day of cleaning up the streets we enjoyed a fun BBQ in the park with lots of music. Here is Eben drumming along with the African Children s Choir.

For only being 1/2 a year old Eben sure has done a lot. Here he is enjoying the sunshine at one of his little friends birthday party.

Ok so maybe him and Noah weren't that interested in the party! hehe..

Micah had some work to do with my Dad so it was off to St. Stephen we went. While we were down there we celebrated both mine and Mom's birthdays with a family BBQ. Here is Eben and I with my first Cousin and her children.

Just last weekend Eben go to his first wedding! He looked so cute in his shirt, tie and dress hat.

I think that he was getting tired of us taking lots of pictures of him by this point!

So we haven't stopped yet and the rest of the summer has lots of fun in the plans. Keep checking us out to see what crazy adventures we will have in the up coming month!!

The Results Are In....

And it's a PASS!! I couldn't be any prouder of my little study bug : )

4 years of university
+ Getting a 'tough to get' internship at Moncton hospital
+ 1 year of tough interning and studying (plus taking care of a husband and being pregnant : )
+ 4 months of studying (plus taking care of a husband and a baby : )
+ 1 really hard test
+ 1 month of worrying

Katie is not sure yet what the next steps are, but you can bet that she will be using her new certification to help a lot of people out. I am excited to see what her and the Lord will team up to do in the next few months and years.

We would just like to take this opportunity to thank the Lord for orchestrating everything so perfectly and giving Katie the strength to do this. Next Katie's parents for walking with us through each step and lastly to everyone who prayed for us or babysat Eben so Katie could study. I know that you are all celebrating with us.

If you want to come jump around the living room with us, you are more than welcome! We'll be jumping for a week or so, so come on over whenever you can : ) God Bless all!

May Adventures with the Peterson

So you all are probably wondering..."Where have these Peterson's been and why aren't they blogging". Either that or you have given up checking the site every day because you are disappointed in our up keeping of our crazy adventures. Well please let me explain what we have been up to these days.

Since January I had been preparing to write my Dietitian exam. I put in a lot of long hours of studying so the week before the exam my mom came for a visit to help out with the house work, the baby and the meal prep to give me some extra study time. During her time her she even treated us to some study treats. The waffle bowl sundaes from DQ are just as yummy as they look.

After my exam its was off for our much deserved family vacation to Minnesota. The reason for going to Minn was to visit Micah's family there. His grandparents, great gramma, uncle, aunt and cousins live there. This was an exciting vacation for me because I had never met this side of the family before (except the grandparents).

Visiting Micah's great gramma Esther was so much fun. She is a wonderful women of God who turned 104 a couple months ago. We had a wonderful time visiting with her and hearing her tell us some unforgettable stories from her childhood. We got to bring along to her some greetings from family members in the Maritimes; she really loved seeing everyone on the video camera.

This incredible bunch of peeps is Micah's uncle, aunt and cousins. We had a blast hanging out with them. We spent pretty much every day seeing this fine group of individuals. We had a blast eating lots of yummy suppers together, laughing, and playing dutch blitz together. We ended up going on the right weekend because we got to see Kirstin and her boyfriend Gary going to the prom.

Also Micah's cousin Brandon randomly showed up from Florida to take his girlfriend to prom as well. These Peterson men are all romantics; I'm tellin ya!!

One of our big adventures well in Minn was to hit the MALL OF AMERICA!! Now thats what I'm talkin about. This place was huge. The parking garage was about 3-4 times the size of our malls stacked on top of one another. Once we got parked and I got my self composed Micah strapped Eben on his back, as I am sure he was uncertain as to what would happen once I was unleashed from the vehicle.

This place was so awesome. There were so many stores to shop in and adventures to be had at different amusement parks. We had fun exploring around before stopping at Caribou Coffee for a quick refuel...Not that I needed it!

After our refuel it was off to the amusement park. I knew as soon as I walked in which roller coasters I wanted to go on and in no time Micah and I were strapped in, Papa was in place to video tape us and GG was watching the babe for us. Maybe we will post the video once I learn how to do that with my new video camera.

Micah also had a time to show Eben Lego land... which he remember from a previous visit.

As you can tell from the picture Eben was drooling with excitement (see his soaked shirt).

We had so many crazy adventures on the plane rides, in the airports and with the family that this post would just be too long. So maybe we will post a little movie (once we get it together) to give you the summary of how AWESOME our trip was!

How To Build a Ski Hill in Your Backyard

Hey everybody, Micah here. This is my front yard for 20 years in French Village, New Brunswick. As you can see, my niece and nephew are having lots of fun sliding down this great hill. I used to too with my brothers. We built jumps and rocked our GT's pretty much every day in the winter.

Moncton is a little flat (thanks for mowing the yard Nance, looks great!). This is a problem, so we decided to come up with a strategic plan to pretty much build Poley Mountain in our backyard!!

Step 1 - Have a crazy winter

Step 2 - Get someone to plow about 50 snowfalls into the back of your driveway

Step 3 - Hire a tractor to shoot the giant mound of snow over your fence into the backyard

Step 4 - Enjoy!

Drawback - Giant brown thing in the Spring : S

I think the tractor annihilated a kids shovel too : S It blew up and it scattered about our yard...

So there you have it. Pretty neat eh? Best of luck building your own Ski Hill in your backyard!

Nutrition Month

Hello everybody!! Guess what month it is? That's right, it's NM (Nutrition Month)!! Katie is telling me all about it and she brought home a great DVD about how even busy people like me can make easy choices to start living more healthy!! So we made some tasty RBFs (Root Beer Floats) and gathered around the TV for the show! I did learn a thing or two and maybe when this snow goes away, we can get some exercise like the healthy family in the movie : ) More to come on NM!

We are still around

We are finally getting our lives back together and have decided to keep on bloggin!!! A lot has happened since we last posted. So we are taking this blog to catch up on what we have been up to.

December was a wonderful month as we prepared for Christmas early this year "just in case" the baby was to show up early. We put up our first Christmas tree and made lots of goodies. The week before Christmas was a little stressful for us as my due date came and went with out a baby...so by the end of the week Micah decided to take some extra days off of work to be home with me. We had a fun time together preparing Christmas gifts for our family.

On December 23rd the Peterson crew traveled from Saint John to spend the day with us. We had so much fun enjoying all the Christmas treats, exchanging gifts, laughing and of course playing dutch blitz.

The next day, which was Christmas Eve, was the date the hospital gave us to come in to be induced if the baby hadn't come. So at 7:30 am December 24th we were off to the hospital and 24 hours later Ebenezer Micah Peterson entered the world!! What an amazing Christmas gift he has been!!

When we got home from the hospital we enjoyed our Christmas Turkey and opened our gifts!
..Micah was very excited when he opened this present! I am pretty sure the next day he was down stairs with his friend Andrew putting it together...even though we have a little while longer before we can use it.

We were so privileged to have my mom stay with us for the first couple of nights we were home and then have Micah's parents come and stay for the week after that.

My best friend Deanna and her family came up from Nova Scotia for an afternoon which was a lot of fun.

We spent new years eve eating lots of yummy treats (that Micah's mom prepared), signing and playing a new game the Peterson's got for Christmas called Ticket to Ride.

Since the New Year we have been on the go!! Eben's first trip was to Saint John to attended a farewell party for our dear friends Nat and Naomi who moved away.

While we were there Eben got to met other family members for the first time. Like his Great Grandpa Jamer.

My mom and her sister also met us in Saint John. So Eben got to met his great aunt Debbie for the first time as well.

The weather was so beautiful the following weekend we decided to pack up and head off to St. Stephen for Eben to meet the family down there. He got to meet a lot of family members. Every one from Great gramma Bernice to his little cousins Ella and Chloe!

We are still keeping busy with the little one but enjoying each moment with him. We will be continuing on with our blog...blogging about our outtings and fun adventures that we have!

OH Christmas Tree!!!

So here it is ladies and gentlemen...our first Christmas Tree !!

Last Saturday after we went to the market, Micah took me to a tree farm and we picked out this beautiful little guy! It was a prefect size for the space we had in our living room and for the Aveo. We didn't even have to tie it on the roof because with a little rearranging it fit right into the back seat! When we got home Micah cut the bottom off and put together this lovely tree stand that my parents brought up for us last weekend when they were here visiting. We let it sit over night so the branches could fall down and take a nice tree shape.

On Sunday we started the decorating process. Micah put all the lights on while I started the popcorn garland. Once he was finished with the lights he and Weiwei helped me do the garland. They did a great job stringing the popcorn. I tried to provide other snacks for them to eat so the popcorn would make it on the string instead of in their bellies.

When we had finished with the popcorn it was time to put on the decorations. I let the boys do this part as I made some hot apple cider for them to reward all the hard work they had done!

So now we have been enjoying our evenings sitting in front of our beautiful lite up Christmas tree and fire place. We are very excited to be spending Christmas here in our new home with "God willing" our new family!

Baby Peterson's room is finished

Hey everyone! Sorry it's been such a long time since we last posted anything but things around here have been pretty busy. Since we moved into the house we have been working hard on getting some things done before winter. One of the major projects that needed to get done was the nursery. With only 3 weeks to go we have been under some pressure to finish it.

The theme we wanted to go with for the baby's room was Noah's ark, so we asked a family from our church, who are very talented artist, if they would be interested in doing a mural on the walls of some animals and the ark. We were thrilled when they decided to do it for us!

Before we started we had to do some work in the room. First Micah worked on fixing a hole in the closet and putting primer on the walls to cover up the preexisting baby blue paint.

When the primer was all on the walls we had some help putting the two base colors that Micah choose for the room. Our friend Weiwei and his sister Shiloh.

When Shiloh came up to paint the artist had already been here to do some sketches on the wall so she needs to be very careful to paint around them.

Each week the artist and his family would come over to do some painting and more drawing. It was such a blessing to have this family in our home week after week.

This picture was taken after the first night of painting.

After 6 weeks and a few extra visits in there the nursery walls were finally finished!!! However before we could move the baby stuff back into the nursery we needed to put some stain on the floor to protect the hardwood. Micah worked very hard getting this done in two nights so now we have a complete nursery...all it is missing is Baby P!!!

Looking into the nursery this picture is on the left hand side. The three big animals and Noah will be looking into the crib, while the ark is above the head of the crib.

This is a close up of some of the animals coming out of the ark. It's Micah's favorite and if you look closely you can seen two little mice coming off the boat.

The ruler is on the conner of the wall as you are leaving the room. I think this has been the funnest feature of the room as all our guest love to see how tall they are!

This picture is on the right hand side of the room as you walk in. I love how the hippo is right beside the rocking chair!!

Weiwei's Birthday

This weekend we celebrated Weiwei's birthday! Micah and I decided to cook up something new for this special occasion; so we dug to the bottom of our freezer to find the crown roast we had bought this summer. For all of you who don't know what a crown roast is, its like a bunch of pork chops tied together with the bones sticking up to make the shape of a crown. Here is the king of the kitchen himself with his crown! hehehe....

With a little bit of advice from Rhonda on how to cook it our roast was a success. Weiwei was very excited to dig into this work of art!

Micah who is a gravy lover decided that this would not be a feast without making gravy from the drippings. So after getting some advice from his aunt Carol (who he believes to be a gravy master) he was hard at work mixing up gravy for the special meal. It turn out to be really flavorful, however it was a little bit thick as it wouldn't even pour out of the gravy dish we had it in!

We ended our meal with a delicious Crapple Crisp (Crapple is a combination of apples and cranberries) and ice cream! We ended the evening with a couple rounds of a new game that Stephen and Maria purchased this weekend called Sequence. It was a lot of fun to play!

Pumpkins at Pauls

This past Saturday we went over to our friend Paul's house for Pizza and Pumpkins! First we enjoyed many different kinds of pizza for supper before we got down to work; carving our pumpkins.

Micah and I worked together as a team. I got to do the dirty work and clean the pumpkin out while my artistic husband carved the pumpkin.

While Micah was busy creating a pumpkin master piece I was hard at work in the kitchen cookin up the pumpkin seeds. They are so yummy baked in the oven with a little bit of olive oil and of course lots of salt. Everyone was very creative with their pumpkin creations. Here is the outcome of ours!

You might not be able to tell what that is so here is a better picture we took the following day at home in the light.

Maybe you can tell better from this picture that its a stork carrying a baby! What a creative husband I have.

New Blog

It's something I have wanted to start for a while now and with some free time on my hands I decided to give it a go. This blog will have lots of nutrition information along with yummy delicious recipes! Feel free to check it out as I have already posted some stuff!

Settling In

Sunday morning we started off with some praise and prayer in our new home before heading off to church. When we got home from church we were all so tired from the late night before that everyone needed a rest.

Meanwhile back in St. Stephen my parents were not resting as they were trying to pile everything they could onto the back of Dad's truck to bring up to us. I think they managed to get more then we excepted to come on the truck.

Mom arrived late in the afternoon. We once again unloaded all the stuff that she had brought up. Before we knew it the boys had the tree trimmers out, that she brought up, and were working on the back yard. For the next hour or so everyone was cutting branches down and hauling them off to a conner in the yard. Mom and Rhonda were a little intense as they were right up on the ladders using a hack saw to get at some pretty big branches.

The next day mom and I were off to the old apartment to give it a good cleaning. We did make some time to do a little bit of house shopping. We purchased some curtains and when we got home mom put them up before she headed out side to mow the lawn.

While mom was outside doing work I was busy inside taking pictures of our new home !!

This is my beautiful kitchen. Its the first room you enter when you come in the back door. I really love that its yellow; it makes it very warm feeling. My second favorite thing about the kitchen is the mugs that are hanging!!! I just love the idea to have our mugs hanging over by the coffee pot.

This is a shot of the living room, which was taken from the kitchen. This is what sold us the house, we just love that the kitchen opens into the living room through an arch way.

This is the washroom. We really like the color blue in this room and I love how our old shower curtain from our first apartment made an excellent bathroom curtain when we cut a lot of the length off of it.

When Micah came home from work him and mom were hard at work putting the crib together.

It took a little bit of time to figure out where all the parts went and to figure out the length of the screws that we needed but they continued to work at it.

And then finally...they had figured it all out! It looks great! The nursery still needs a bit of work before we show the real final pictures of this room. A creative man from our church is working on a mural for the baby's room of Noah's arch, its going to look so cute!

Even after all the work that we did with our parents there was still more to be done this weekend. Micah's grandparents decided it was their turn to come and put there expertise to work.

Dora is a great painter so once the boys had the doors off and outside she was hard at work. She painted three doors for us that didn't have any paint on them and even did a touch up job in the spare bedroom closet.

The boys were busy at work scouting out the landscaping stuff early in the morning and then getting right to work building shelfs. Micah took a quick run to the hardware store to pick up some boards and he came back with this pretty cool stud finder!

Gramp did most of the cutting while Micah was busy inside finding the studs; so the shelfs would be strong!

They worked hard all day and by the end of the day they had put 7 shelfs in the spare room closet for our books and one longer shelf in the baby's room closet.

We feel so blessed to have had so much help getting us settled into our new house. There is still work that needs to be done but we feel we are well on our way of making our new house a home!

Moving Day!

It was an early morning on Saturday as it was moving day! Micah and his dad took off around 8:15 to go get the U-haul truck that we rented. They arrived back to the apartment a little before 9:00; it just so happened it was the same time many of our good friends had shown up to help us. Once the truck was in place the boys started packing it up. Within 1 hour the truck was packed and they were on there way to get some stuff that we were storing at our friends house. By 10:30 the truck was at our new home and it was being unpacked.

The boys had great team work as they unloaded the truck, brought the items in and received direction from me as to where to put stuff...however there was so much stuff it was hard to direct everyone where to go with it.

While the boys were unloading the truck our girl friends where also very busy. They were helping put away all the boxes that were coming in, making the beds, re arranging the furniture in the bedrooms, cleaning out the cupboards and cleaning the bathroom!

Rhonda was also hard at work cooking seafood chowder for our helpers.

Before we knew it the truck was empty and everything that we own was squished into our new home. It wasn't even 11:30 when Micah was pulling out of here with an empty U-Haul to take back. When Micah arrived back home I was told to meet him outside with the camera. I went outside to find my husband sitting in the trunk of our friends car with a rocking chair that he had just picked up at a yard sale for $5.00! It was just what I had mentioned that I wanted for the baby's room earlier that week!

After enjoying a delicious lunch of seafood chowder, biscuits and banana bread for dessert it was back to work as we tried to make the house look like we lived there.

Our two friends Jamie and Stephen put together our conner computer desk,

We tried to orangize the food and dishes in the kitchen,

And Micah and his dad decided to clean out the attic so we could put some more insulation up there....they ended up finding some wacky and cool things! (this is Micah inside of an old TV)

The rest of our day was filled with more cleaning, putting up shelfs, getting a curtain rod for the bathroom and putting things away in the basement. By the end of our first day in our new home things were looking great!

Labour Day Weekend

After finishing up my internship, Micah and I decided that we needed a vacation to celebrate not only my graduation accomplishment but also our two year anniversary. So on Saturday Sept 1st we headed to Nova Scotia for a wedding. After the wedding we headed into Halifax to spend the night at a hotel. On Sunday we decided to get up early to attend a lovely church in Lower Sackville (Yeah Gateway!). After the service we went back to the pastor's house with his family and 2 of our close friends to enjoy the yummiest craziest salad ever made! It was such a beautiful day that we decided after lunch to pack into the Aveo and head out to Peggy's Cove.

It was my first time there; I couldn't believe how amazing the view of the ocean was.

We had such a fun afternoon taking lots of pictures,

Climbing through the rocks,

And even taking a break to stop and chit chat for a while

Once we were tried out from all the rock climbing we decided it was time to head back home. What a great vacation!!

Graduation

After 48 weeks I finally graduated from The Moncton Hospital Graduate Internship Program. The ceremony took place on Friday August 31st in the afternoon. The four of us had family members and friends come to share in this proud moment as we received our internship diplomas, Dietitian pins and a dozen roses.

I was very blessed to have both my parents and Micah's parents come up as well as Dave and Dora (Micah's grandparents). I also had some close friends from our church attend the ceremony and other invited friends.

Best of all Micah had the day off to come and celebrate this achievement with me. I know that without his support throughout this year I would not have made it.

After the ceremony we all headed over to Pizza Hut to celebrate over pizza and chocolate milk (it was one of my cravings at the time).

We bought a house

With the internship coming to an end and baby's due date getting closer, Micah and I were on the hunt for a house. We spent many nights driving around taking down realtors' phone numbers. One night as Micah was calling a phone number we had randomly copied down he met a nice realtor who was willing to help us find a house. After Micah met with him, we had a appointment to see 6 houses on Saturday afternoon.

After several disappointing visits..... we ended up at this cute 3 bed room bungalow!!

Right away Micah loved this house as it has much potential. After praying about it and talking with our families we decided to make an offer. To make a long story short, this is the house that God wanted us to have and two days after we put the offer, it got accepted at just the price we needed! So the plan is that on September 17th we take the keys and become owners of this cute fixer upper starter home! We are excited to see how God will use us in this neighborhood! We will be posting more pictures as we begin to clean it up and make it our own home!

Rob's Birthday

On Aug 12th we left for an adventure to Keswick Ridge for our friend Rob's surprise birthday party. He's a quarter of a century old!!

We enjoyed lots of yummy food as his family hosted a wonderful BBQ for this celebration. We also got to see many friends from the Fredericton and Saint John area that we don't get to see to often.

After Supper we all enjoyed a fun game of sherades and ice cream cake!

Kate at Camp

This summer I had the privileged as an intern to go to Camp Dia-best. This is a camp that is held each summer at Camp Rotary specifically for children with diabetes. There were also 2 other interns from other nutrition programs selected to go; along with two registered Dietitians. When we arrived on Friday evening we were told that we would no longer be known by our real names but we were each given camp names; so for the rest of the week the camp staff and children referred to me as Tangy.

Our days were filled from morning to evening. We were responsible for posting all the nutrition information for each meal and snack on poster board around the dinning room. During meal times we were each in charge of one cabin. It was our responsibility to make sure that the children accurately counted the right amount of carbohydrates that they consumed. During snack time we handed out snacks and counted carbs. The afternoons where great as we spent them on the beach swimming with the kids.

One of our big jobs was during rest time. One cabin each day would come to the chapel to play nutrition games that we had created. We made these games to help them know how to create a balanced meal, how to read labels and better visualize what a proper portion of food was. This is me with the dietitian Spicy; we were in charge of the label game.

Camp wasn't just all work for us as we got to play and party with the campers as well. This picture was taken the last night during their carnival.

Josh's Graduation Party!

While Micah's Minnesota family was still down visiting, Deja (our sister in law) hosted a Graduation BBQ party for her husband Josh! Josh had been going through blocks of school to complete his electrician papers. As of this summer he is officially done! What a blessing it was to share in this special day with him along with many friends and family members.

Frank and Lilian's Wedding

July was the month of weddings for us. We had 3 in a row! The last wedding we attended in July was a renewing of vows by our dear friends Frank and Lilian. We first met Lilian two years ago when we moved to Moncton. Right away her outgoing and loving spirit made us feel so welcomed. She opened up to us right away and told us about her dear Frank who she had married 3 years earlier, before coming to Canada with her family and they had been praying for Frank to receive a visa so he to could come to Canada. Our prayer group prayed for him every Friday night and one year later we greeted Frank into Canada. It took Lilian a little more time then Deborah to plan the wedding so this summer we were blessed to attend their wedding ceremony.

Now the difference between Canadian weddings and African weddings (besides everyone being MORE then fashionably late : ) is that the Africans NEVER stop dancing. They dance up and down the aisles, people dance around the bride and groom and the best part was when Lilian's brother Calvin and friend Lea danced the cake knife and server up the reception aisle!!

Now the dancing didn't stop there. After the speeches and eating all the guest headed to the dance floor to learn some new moves. Here is Calvin teaching Micah how to really bust a groove!

After all these weddings Micah has really turned into a dancing machine!!

Family Supper

Once we got back from the wedding we had the honor of having Micah's Minnesota family along with his parents and grandparents come and join us for a delicious supper. We had a wonderful time together enjoying a feast of Rhonda's seafood chowder, ribs and strawberry short cakes for dessert. We hope that the next time you all come to visit, we will be in a bigger house!

Ben and Jo's Wedding

After Deborah's wedding it was time for our vacation to Dunham. We left early July 10th and spent a whole day driving. We had so much fun driving the back roads through the states to get there.

We even drove through MEXICO....hehehe....Mexico Maine that is. Micah made me get out and take this picture of him!

We stopped half way along the ride for a nice picnic lunch by this beautiful lake. The weather was a bit warm for driving but we finally made it there that evening.

We had a wonderful week hanging out with family as we helped Ben and Jo prepare for their big day. Our days were filled with long "to do" lists as we all helped to prepare for the big day. At night we enjoyed having hot drinks in our hands, games and fellowship.

The wedding took place on July 14th. It was a beautiful day for an outside wedding. Guests began arriving early in the morning as most people were staying at the YWAM base for the night.

After the ceremony, the wedding party along with family went to take pictures on a beautiful hillside that was very special to both Ben and Jo.

The day was so much fun because we got to meet up with friends and family that we had not seen in a long time. The Peterson grandparents along with Joan arrived early in the week, Mike and Anna Cains drove from Toronto, Dave and Kate Turner came from Montreal and our dear friend Rob flew in from...well I don't really remember where he is now, but I know it is far away. The reception was a blast as we were entertained by Jamie and Marie-Helene Morell. The night ended with a very fun Quebec wedding dance!

The next morning all the guest enjoyed a delicious brunch, which was prepared by the brides maids. We had so much fun at the wedding that even baby Miah was tired out the next day.

That afternoon family and friends joined Ben and Jo as they opened many wonderful wedding gifts before heading off for more honeymooning!

Deborah's Wedding

Our July started off with Deborah and Jean-Luc's wedding. This wedding was very special for us to attend because of the journey that these two love birds have gone through. Last year Deborah flew to Africa to marry Jean-Luc. Throughout the past year we have all been earnestly praying for him to receive a visa to come to Canada. Finally on May 13th, 21 of us from our church gathered at the small airport in Moncton to welcome this man that we had heard so much about.

From that day on, Deborah put us all to work planning the wedding for July 7, 2007. She did an excellent job, putting a wedding together that quickly. After been friends with Deborah and being involved with the African community for over a year we should have figured this was not going to be your typical Canadian wedding. As 2:00 approached, the church was fairly empty as it was only filled with Canadians. It was about 3:00 (1 hour past the time on the invitation) when the church became filled with many people and the bride began to make her way down the aisle.

The wedding was filled with lots of cheering and dancing! Afterwards we enjoyed a delicious African feast and yummy wedding cake we all danced the rest of the night away learning many new moves!

We have been so busy over the past couple of months with get together's, work, school work and weddings that we have almost forgot how to blog...but don't worry we are BACK!! Time for an up date!!

It has been so long since we last up- dated that I don't even know where to begin in our new adventures.

The long weekend in May the Stewart's made the long track to Moncton to visit with Micah and I for the weekend. We had a fun time with my mom and dad enjoying each others company. We went shopping (while mom and I did), ate Chinese food, went swimming (everyone except me...the water was too cold) and played phase 10.

The rest of May was pretty boring as nothing really excited happened.

The 1st day of June however was a different story!!! Micah treated me like a queen for my whole birthday. I woke up to a nice breakfast, we went out for a yummy supper and after my women's prayer meeting Micah had organized a surprise birthday party for me. It was so much fun. We had yummy treats (carrot cake and Deborah's home made African donuts!), I was blessed with a lot of very nice gifts, and of course there was dancing....a lot of dancing!

My Birthday weekend just kept getting better. On June 2nd my best friend Deanna was in Moncton to stay with us. We had so much fun staying up late talking about the awesome things that God is doing with his people. On Sunday the band from my university (Life Support) was leading worship at our church, this is why Dee was down visiting. After church we went to a wonderful couples house from our church to enjoy a yummy lunch with the band.

Also that weekend our Christian Ranger (kind of like the power rangers only better) friends where in town.

So on Sunday we joined them for some pizza and games. It was fun hanging out with Phil and Genieve ( yes that is who is behind the ranger gear) again as they had been away for a very long time.

Continued Peterson Adventures

June just didn't stop after that weekend. The very next weekend Micah and I were packing up our little car to head to Fredericton to surprise Shiloh for a birthday party that her friends where having for her.

Micah and I spend Saturday with our friend Phil and Genieve we went out to enjoy the hot sunny day in Fredericton. That evening we went over to our friends Kristy and Ryan Shorts house for a yummy meal of home made pizza and cesear salad. Kristy is a very good cook as very thing tasted delicious. The next morning we headed off to church at the meeting place. We really enjoy going to this church and it just so happened that after church was there annual summer BBQ we tried not to eat too much as we knew we would be going to another BBQ in just a few hours.

When we got back to Phil and Genieve house Micah and Phil had a chance to play some music together while Genieve and I were in the kitchen creating new dips to take to the BBQ.

We headed out to the party a bit early so that we could help Shiloh's friends Faith and Monique decorate for the special occasion. Some of the balloons were very massive! Genieve was blowing one up so much that it popped right in her face...it was sooo scary that Micah screamed at the top of his lungs. It was a very funny had to be there kind of moment!

Once the birthday girl arrived, it was no time before the BBQ was going and food was being served on the table. We enjoyed a wonderful feast of many different foods.

Shiloh was blessed with many nice gifts from her friends and family. Here she is sporting some of the new items she had received.

Before the evening ended we were able to get some photos in before we all parted our ways again. Here is a semi family picture of us with Shiloh, Micah's parents and grand parents.

After such an exciting weekend away in Fredericton you would think that our traveling for the month would be over...but oh no there was another just this past weekend.

Friday night Micah and I decided to pack the car and head to St. Stephen for the weekend. We had a lot of fun being home with my family. The first night we just relaxed outside by the camp fire. It was to bed early as Micah and I both had a busy day ahead of us.

Saturday morning we woke up to pancakes and bacon cooking. After enjoying such a hardy breakfast, Dad and Micah were off to the woods and Mom and I were off to town to go shopping. After a long day for all of us we headed to St. Andrews to celebrate Mom's birthday. We went to a special restaurant that my mom loves called the Gables. It was so beautiful out side we were able to eat on the patio which over looked the water. Micah enjoyed the slamer's that we ordered as a appetizer.

After supper we enjoy a nice walk down the front street of St. Andrews. We stopped by a new ice cream stand to enjoy a little bit of dessert. We all enjoyed waffle cones and continued walking down towards the wharf. The wind had pick up a lot and it was very cold walking so we had to turn back.

When we got back home my cousin Carrie came out to visit with her two little girls Chloe and Ella. We had another fire only this time mom was prepared with hot dogs and marshmallows for the kids. Ella enjoyed the marshmallows while Chloe took care of making spider dogs!

Gone Fishin'

Well, Mark and I have been saying that we need to go fishing for a long time and we finally did! It was a great time. I felt like I was back at Dayspring. We caught 4 fish all about 8 to 9 inches. The biggest one played dead and when we went to wash it, it was the "one that got away". No sweat though. We lost a few hooks, waded through some brooks with no waders on, got the fishing line in a knot and had to empty out the fishing line and wind it back up, but hey, I've never been on a fishing trip that I didn't have to do that! That's what makes it an adventure!!

Grampa J Back in Action

Grampa J has had to move his blog due to an upgrade complication with blogger. He is set up now though and he is all fired up because he is going to be blogging on his own. Peterson's Q1 - Quarterly results

Life in the Peterson Apartment has forced us, as you can see, into mega blogging. This is similar to normal blogging, but the updates come like bi-yearly instead of bi-weekly. I have the answer, but it's a little nerdy, so you'll have to head over to the nerd page to learn more. After spending a wonderful time with the Stewart's for Christmas we packed up the car and headed to St. John to spend a few days with the Peterson's.

On Christmas night we all gathered at Josh and Deja's to exchange gifts. It was a lot of fun this year since we all drew names. Weiwei was with us again and he broke the rules and got presents for everyone!! Katie got Weiwei in the draw and you can see here that she did a great job : )

We started the new year out with a big celebration for Micah's 25th birthday!!! Twenty-Five is a really big birthday and I really wanted to do something special for him so a good friend of ours helped me plan a huge surprise party for Micah.

For two weeks we secretly planned out this little Mexican Fiesta behind Micah's back! We had it so well planned out that Micah was in total shock when he showed up at our friends house to find lots of our friends and family there to celebrate him!!

Of course we celebrated with lots of yummy food! Lots and Lots of Mexican Pile Up!!!

After supper we thought it would be a good idea to burn some off some supper, so Dave and Shiloh taught us all how to do the Mexican Hat dance!

We had a wonderful time of Worship and Prayer before indulging in Oreo dessert. This Mexican Party even came with a pinata. It took Micah a couple of swings before it hit the jack pot! This wasn't just your ordinary pinata filled with lots of sugary candy, this was a high class pinata filled with every kind of Lindor ball you can imagine. It didn't take long for more people to jump in and grab a hand full once they figured out the treats inside.

Oh did I mention that this was a theme party with a prize for the best costume! I bet you can't guess who won......

Yes! Rhonda was the lucky winner of the Mexican Fish (see if you can find this new art piece in the Peterson house!!). "A" for effort though, David and Shiloh put up a good fight! (Micah here, I'm thinking that my family was tricked as no one else had Mexican clothes on..... but far be it for a Peterson to shy away from an International Dress-up Party (better known as IDP........ ok I made that acronym up! hehehe)).

Even though January was a busy month we still made some time to head over to Fredericton to spend a weekend with our dear friends Phil and Genieve. What a great time we had going to the market and we all headed out to Shiloh's for a breakfast supper and we even got to see Ryan and Kristy (Food, friends, Kristy this blog's for you : )!!!

The winter here in Moncton has been pretty cold but we have had a couple really nice days to get out and have some fun. We decided one Sunday afternoon that it would be a good day to teach Weiwei how to skate!

Micah thought that he should be Weiwei's skating instructor.....

........That didn't last too long!

Before the end of the day Weiwei had pick up the technique and was skating like a pro.

February was a fun month for us as we celebrated Valentines day and our date-a-versary! For Valentines day our church put on a nice dinner for all the members. The theme was the love boat. It was a lot of fun to walk into the church and feel like you were walking onto a cruise ship. The women at the church did a great job decorating and since it was a "formal" event everyone looked stunning. It felt as though we really were on a cruise. (Micah here, Katie is modeling the "moderne" (French for modern) Kristy Jacket style and I am sporting a classic thin eighties striped tie look!)

On February 26th Micah and I celebrated 4 years of being together! For this special occasion we decided to enjoy an evening out.....at the Barn Yard BBQ!!! hahaha..... Nothing like celebrating over Giant Burgers and fries!

Well thats about the run down of what we have been up to. Did I forget to mention that Micah has been working on a side project......

Christmas with the Stewart's

We started our Christmas vacation off with a trip home to St. Stephen on Dec. 22nd after we were finished work.

On Saturday we had some visitors show up to enjoy a wonderful Christmas supper!

My aunt Debbie and her husband Tim came baring gifts and an sweet apple pie!

Weiwei was with us again this year, my grams where there and so were some good friends of my parents. We had such a feast with all the fixings. After supper dad played us some Christmas carols on his bagpipes. He sounds so much better then he did a couple of years ago when he was first learning how to play!

That night we enjoyed some good music outside in dad's work shop. Micah and dad where playing the guitars and Weiwei gave the bass a try. He was really good for his first time

On Christmas eve we went up to my cousins house to spend some time with my girls Chloe and Ella! We had lots of fun with them playing with some new toys that they had just received.

Soon it was time to head home again to get ready for another get together meal. On Christmas eve we enjoy a big feast of muscles!!! They were so good! By the look on Micah's face I don't think he liked them too much!! haha..

Micah had me up bright and early on Christmas morning! I think that we was anticipating some beef jerky in his stocking even though we told me a billion times that we didn't get him any this year!!! He quickly new we were tricking him when he went to the fridge in the morning for his orange juice and wrapped around the carton was a big bag full of beef jerky!!! We had a great morning reading about the birth of our Savior, Jesus in the book of Luke. We shared lots of laughs as we were gather around the table opening our gifts. Micah got a big surprise as Mom, Dad and I all pitched in to buy him an Ipod for Christmas. It was the last gift he opened and that was the last we saw of him! haha...

Before we left Christmas day to head to St. John to spend time with Micah's family, Weiwei and I decided that we need one last feast at the Stewart house before the long drive back!!

Long Time...No Blog!!!

Hey bloggers!! It has been a long time since either one of us has had some time to sit down to tell you all what has been happening in the life of us Peterson's! It would take us forever to go through all of the wonderful adventures that we have had so I am going to sum them all up in this one post.

The last weekend in August, my AMAZING husband planned a weekend get-away for our 1st anniversary. We went to St. Andrews to stay at a beautiful bed and breakfast. We enjoyed a sunny afternoon biking around St. Andrews and a relaxing evening eating chocolate covered strawberries and drinking water out of wine glasses.

After our weekend away Micah and I headed to St. Stephen to enjoy a vacation at home with my family. It was a lot of fun. We did a lot of hanging out with my two little cousins Chloe and Ella.

By the end of the week it was time for the Peterson's annual camping trip. This year we decided to spend the weekend at New River Beach. We had a wonderful time with Micah's family. His grandparents from the states were down visiting so we really enjoyed our time with them!

After all the fun it was back to St. Stephen for me to spend some time with my mom. Mom and I had a wonderful 3 weeks of each other!! It was fun to be mothering to her as I helped her recover from a surgery that she had.

Since then I have been enjoying doing my internship. There has been some pretty crazy weeks with home work and job shadowing but besides that I am learning lots and loving every day! Micah has been doing well with the internship thing as well. As you know last year he got pretty spoiled with the home cooked meals and baked goodies. I have been very impressed with Micah's willingness to help out in the kitchen. Just recently I walked into our apartment after working a 12 hour shift to find Micah in an apron and home made beans, potato scallop, bread and dessert waiting for me on the table. It was a fantastic meal!

Thanks giving was a great time for us as both of our families came together at Day Spring, along with our extended family members, to enjoy a turkey, stuffing, potato, squash, gravy and lots of desserts. It was a FEAST!!! After supper the guys had some fun playing with a few big boy toys!!

Micah and I also had the honor of preparing a Thanksgiving meal for our friend Pastor Theo and his family. He is the African pastor at our church that we work with leading the African children's choir. He has a wonderful wife and five beautiful children. Micah and I did a great job of preparing everything with out fighting once! haha....We had a very pleasant afternoon with their family.

Last month we were very busy as we were preparing for our church's annual Christmas production, the living nativity. Even though we were very busy with practices we still made time to enjoy some meals with our friends.....

The last weekend in November was one of our most craziest weekends. Two of our closest friends both celebrate their birthdays on this weekend. Friday night started out with a special visit from Micah's sister Shiloh. Then it was off to Stephen and Maria Waymen's house to surprise Maria. We had a wonderful time of fellowship, prayer, food and PARTY HATS!!!

On Saturday it was the annual Christmas parade. To get more in the Christmas mood we decided to have a Christmas cookie party before the parade. We invited lots of our church friends and African friends to join us. The girls had a lot of fun preparing the cookies with Micah and then they had even more fun decorating them with LOTS of frosting, sprinkles and colored sugar!

Once our belly's were full from the cookies, frosting and apple cider it was time to get dressed warm and head down town to enjoy the Christmas Parade!

The parade was pretty long so by the end of it we were all frozen. Micah and I had to carry the two little ones we had with us because their feet were so cold. After we got them back to their home to thaw out Micah and I were off to celebrate Deborah's birthday at yet another surprise birthday party. We had a very fun night again eating and praying.

The month of November ended with a new addition to our family! Miah Peterson, who is Micah's brother's 4th child, was born on November 30th. We had a great trip home just last weekend to see Miah. What a great weekend we had! On Saturday night we enjoyed a big family dinner before we got out the Christmas puzzle to do with the Peterson's, Jamer's, and Parson's.

This weekend we are busy preforming our Christmas production. We are having lots of special people come to see the production. Micah's parents and my parents will be joining us, our niece Emma and nephew Jonah and of course some of our closet friends. We look forward to preforming the story of our King Jesus' arrival to us!!!

A Dayspring Weekend

This was a wonderful weekend. Katie and I took the African Kids Choir for a weekend retreat at Daypring Ministries(my home of 20 years). We joined many other international and Canadian friends on Saturday for the International Family Fun day that my parents and others plan quite often now at Dayspring. It was such a joy to go swimming, eat together, go canoeing, catch frogs and play soccer. The kids have been working hard and it was fun to relax a bit and enjoy God's nature!

We finished up Saturday with a giant pillow fight which lasted a good 20 minutes and then hit the hay!

Sunday, we had an amazing pancake breakfast cooked by my Grampa Jamer and uncle Jerry. We had some time to read the bible and we had a wonderful time worshipping together with my grandparents, parents and all the friends that came to help us out (thanks guy ;). It is always so awesome to worship God together with other cultures! I think that God is really pleased when we all come together to praise his name! We have been so blessed to be a part of these kids lives and we look forward to watching them grow and become young men and women of God!
